Windows 10: My PC won’t install Windows 10 and won’t boot. I’ve tried everything and I don’t know what...

Yesterday I installed a new SSD as a secondary drive for more storage. I didn’t disturb anything else other than the GPU which I had to remove to get to the SATA port.

When I turned it back on my Ethernet adapter wasn’t working anymore. I tried going into Network settings, Device manager, downloading and installing the Intel driver packages. I updated windows to 19042.789 and saw that there was an optional Intel network adapter update, so I installed that too. Nothing worked, the PC didn’t recognize the Ethernet port.

However, during the restart that occurs during the Windows 10 Cumulative update, my PC took 15-20 minutes to shut down, and then a BSoD occurred and it displayed the “Driver_Power_State_Failure” error code. It restarted after that and everything seemed fine, but I still couldn’t see the network adapter. I then backed up my files on to my secondary drive and tried to do a reinstall, but it crashed during the reinstall and gave me the “Driver PNP Watchdog” error on a BSoD. After that it booted up and said that Windows failed to install and that any changed had been undone.

I finally decided to do a full wipe. I created the Installation Media on a USB drive, and selected the “delete everything” option (I’m paraphrasing). I deleted everything on my Disk 0 drive and deleted all partitions, then formatted the drive just in case. I ran the installation and it seemed to run fine until I got to the “Getting Devices Ready” screen and it just sat there for hours. I finally restarted my PC and saw a dialogue box that said Windows 10 failed to install. I then removed the new SSD, reseated my GPU, made sure all cables were connected, and then ran through the installation several more times, and it would always get hung up on the “getting devices ready” stage. Today, I started the installation up until the “Getting Devices Ready” screen, and then left for the day as I had things to do. I came home 8 hours later and it was still sitting at the same screen, at the same percentage that I left it at.

I’m desperate at this point, I’m running out of options and time, since I have several assignments and exams to study for and that’s my main machine. If anyone can help me, I would be eternally thankful.

5800 Xpress, podcasting won´t open! Aaargh

So it has happened twice, that the podcasting feature simply won´t open. No probs with radio or music player, but the podcaster just blinks and nothing more. I´ve done two hard resets (wich worked) but I don´t like to have to redo EVERYTHING when it happens.

Volume Mute Light won´t change color

I can´t find anything that addresses my actual problem.I have seen that others have also experienced this problem but I have not found a solution that works. My ProBook was originally Win 7 pro, updated to Win 10 pro but HP won´t update because of its age (for me, brand new-just bought it a few days ago) so I don´t really know what to do. Sure, just a minor glitch but a very irritating one (that orange is just way too bright!) that should be a snap to fix (or not-I don´t know, I think my 4 year old granddaughter has better computer skills than I do!) English is not the default language so many of the commands must be translated-just another hassel to deal with. I finally found the systemconfig. box. Selective start and discovered that ALL the service boxes are checked. Good, bad, doesn´t make a difference: I just don´t know.
