  1. My PC won't work after I accidentally turned it off during Fixing C: Stage 1

When I started my Windows 10 PC today I received a message which said that my computer was undergoing a process called Fixing C: Stage 1. After about 30 or so minutes of updating, I turned my PC off to reset it in order to be able to use it again thinking that the process of the fixing scan was something I could redo later. But when I tried to start the PC again, my screen was completely black after the windows logo was shown. I've been able to see my mouse cursor and start the PC in troubleshooting mode, but there is not much I can do.I have tried to do a system restore, but the only save I

  2. Fixing (CMy PC won't work after I accidentally turned it off during Fixing C: Stage 1 :) Stage 1

I updated my computer on Sunday. It restarted after the update but the log in screen would not boot up. It would not turn off so I removed the battery. After removing the battery I got the fixing (C) Stage 1. I let it run for 24 hours the first time but
it was running the cycle fixing c stage 1 and repairing errors. After that I removed the hard drive and attached it a school computer. The school computer wanted to format it but I said no because I didn't want to lose the files. Once I said no it made the
drive inaccessible. I put the drive back in the computer and it went straight to automatic diagnostic pc. I tried skipping the scan but then a get a blue screen that say it wasn't able to boot then it takes me to the repairing disk errors and fixing c stage
1 cycle. I tried turned on and off to get to the Windows Recovery to boot in safe mode but it won't allow me to do that. Is the drive gone? Is there a way for me to get my files? I really just want to get my files off of the drive.

Update: It just moved to stage 2. It is the first time it moved to stage 2. I am going to let it work and then update later to tell you all what happened.

  3. “Fixing (CMy PC won't work after I accidentally turned it off during Fixing C: Stage 1 :) Stage 1...” has been processing for days

I left my computer on several days ago and after walking away from it...

I returned to it on its startup screen with the following line across the bottom (the values are the most recent but started from—at least when I finally returned to my computer—when I found it at Stage 1: 51% and total 18%):

    Fixing (CMy PC won't work after I accidentally turned it off during Fixing C: Stage 1 :) Stage 1: 53% (295928 of 556800); Total: 19%; ETA: 966:12:12

I have searched a bit for what to do but have basically found that what you need to do is just be patient and wait it out until it finishes.

    So I have 3 questions:

    1. How long should I expect for it to take? It’s already been almost a week and the total percentage only increased by one so far.
    2. Is it ok to interrupt it by turning my computer off?— because there’s no sign of it finishing anytime soon and I need to use my computer.
    3. What does the “ETA” part stand for? Is it estimated time to finish, elapsed time, or something else entirely?

Thank you in advance for any help you have in answering my questions.
