Windows 10: My Phone won't connect after 1 Nov Android 10 Security Update

Galaxy S9+ phone, Windows 10 Pro 20H2 both PCs.


My Phone was working until Verizon sent the 11/1/2020 security update. I've repaired/reset the My Phone app in Windows 10. I've also tried deleting the Cache & Data for the app on the phone. I've unpaired the phone from my Microsoft account and repaired it. The My Phone app in Windows sees the phone on the account and the app on the phone sees the computer on the account. If I launch the app from the phone, I can tell it to pair to the computer, the app opens automatically on the computer, and I select the code that matches the one on the phone. It then says that it's trying to finish, but never does.


If I first open the app on the PC, it says to press the Accept button on the phone, but no prompt ever occurs. The PC shows that it is at 90% completion.

The phone app DOES have the necessary permissions and is allowed to show notifications per the Microsoft troubleshooting page. Also, as I mentioned, it's been working, in fact, for over a year.


While I was trying to make the connection, the phone received an alert from another app. The audio from the alert came through on the PC, but it still won't finish the connection.


As a final troubleshooting step, I tried connecting to my laptop instead of my desktop. That connection was successful and almost instantaneous.

PC Windows 10 Bluetooth won't connect with Pixel 3XL phone

I have a Lenovo Yoga C930 PC (Win 10) that I cannot connect to my Pixel 3XL phone. I can get them to pair, but the PC bluetooth will only hold the connection for about 1 second, then says 'not connected'.

I have removed the PC from the phone's list of previously connected devices & then re-paired-numerous times. I have shut down & re-started both devices numerous times. None of these actions have worked. I am praying that one of you smart readers can help me solve this highly frustrating problem, pretty please?

BTW, I recently ran the upgrade on my phone from android 9 to 10. Could this be the problem? I see other changes on my phone that I think add steps & make it more cumbersome to use. Wish I could dump android 10 & go back to 9, but don't know how to do that either. If that is not the cause of this connection problem with the PC, I can live with it.

I would appreciate all advice. Please know that I am a 60-something year old- more knowledgeable than a basic user, but not super well versed in all of the software & hardware fixes that many of you know, so please write your suggestions/solutions accordingly. Many thanks in advance
