  1. My PIN stopped working, and it has locked me out of my computer, and my Microsoft Password...

Hello.I put myself in a difficult situation. In an attempt to fix a windows program not working properly getting bluescreen due to an EasyTune update, I booted in safe mode, and from there, not being able to uninstall the EasyTune update InstallShield wasn't working properly I may changed something I shouldn't have in my boot options I believe I ticked the selective startup option on System Configuration Window but with only two of the three checks ticked, and now my PIN login does not work. I got the "Something happened and your PIN isn't available." message. I have tried a few solution

    :)

  3. Different Pin Or Password For Lock Screen & Sign-in Screen?

I am wondering if it is possible to have a separate Pin or Password for the lock screen and sign in screen?

    For example:
My Microsoft Account Pin and Password is known to more than myself in my home. I do not want to change the Microsoft Account Password. If I change the Pin at the lock screen, others can just use the Microsoft account Password instead.

What I wish to do is lock my computer and when presented with the lock screen, have the Password for that different than the sign in screen. The only option presented at the first lock screen is either a Pin or Password.

The computer will be doing things in the background while it is locked.

Is it even possible to do what I want?

Windows 10 password pin stopped working

    Hi,

To better assist you, please answer the following questions:

    • Are you able to start up your device up to the desktop screen?
    • After doing the password reset, what error message are you getting?
    • Are you able to log in to your account using a password instead of a pin?

In the meantime, if you are able to start up your device up to the desktop screen you may follow the steps to Remove Pin:

    Go to Settings.

Under Accounts, click on Sign in options and select
    Remove PIN.

After removing your PIN (this will require your password to do this), then you may click
Add PIN. Follow the steps to add a PIN.

NOTE: You may use the same PIN you have been using.

After doing so, log out of your account and sign back in using your PIN.

Let us know how it works.
