Windows 10: My plotter stopped working after I applied the update KB5039211 Win10

I work with a plotter HP/GL on Win 10. After applying the update KB5039211 the plotter stopped responding / printing. Removing the update solved the problem but it can only be a temp. measure.

Hello everybody,

Many years ago (~Win. 2K) I developed for my company a monolithic, user-mode, plotter driver that supports HP/GL 1. It worked perfectly (recompiled and digitally signed, of course) until two days ago when some of our customers applied the patches mentioned above, KB5039211 and resp. KB5039212. There is no error message (EventViewer shows nothing) but the HP/GL commands are simply not there.

Could someone (who is familiar with device drivers development) explain to me what happened ?

We have thousands of applications installed around the world that rely heavily on that piece of software.

KB5039211 - Broke my browsers.

I installed KB5039211 security update on Win10 Pro, then certain controls in all my browsers stopped working (same symptom in Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Brave). The submit button in ChatGPT stopped working, as did the 'show password' button in LastPass.

I uninstalled the update and they work again.

I'd rather keep the security update, but can't find what system wide setting would break the browsers like that!?

Any ideas?
