I recently updated my computer, now my power Icon is missing and I can't turn it back on because it is grey'ed out.

Last Answer Avail on Community Forum from 2017 did not restore the option to turn it back on;

Hi Katrina,

The system icon may have encountered a corruption that caused this issue. For us to help you with this concern, we suggest that you try to restart the Windows Explorer process to refresh the taskbar icons. Kindly follow the steps below:

1. On your keyboard, press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and select Task Manager.
2. On the Processes tab, look for the Windows Explorer process and select it.

1. Click the Restart button at the bottom right corner of the Task Manager window.

1. After the Windows Explorer process has been restarted, check the notification area on the taskbar and see if the battery icon is visible.

I am not able to get the battery icon to show on the task bar despite following the instructions to make it show

To check the status of your battery, select the battery icon in the taskbar. To add the battery icon to the taskbar:

• Select Start Windows logo Start button > Settings Gear-shaped Settings icon > Personalization > Taskbar, and then scroll down to the notification area. Choose Select which
  icons appear on the taskbar, and then turn on the Power toggle. (Note: The Power toggle is not visible on a system such as a desktop PC that doesn't use battery power.) If you still don't see the battery icon, select Show
  hidden icons Up arrow icon on the taskbar, and then select the battery icon.
• On a device that uses battery power, if you select Start Windows logo Start button > Settings Gear-shaped Settings icon > Personalization > Taskbar and the Power toggle is greyed
  out or not visible, in the search box on the taskbar, type device manager, and then select Device Manager in the list of results. Under Batteries, right-click the battery for your device, select Disable,

laptop won't turn on

this is taking it a step further than the previous post, so ill do that and see what happens.

I believe i checked this , could be a different cable but ill double check.

Edit: oh and sometimes when i press and hold the power button the little green power button light will briefly turn on.
