Windows 10: my pre built pc has a user pc administrator password and i cant get into my pc after...

i factory reset my pre built pc and i came across a problem whereby my pre built pc had a admin user password that i was never informed about i tried using a command prompt but the user password wont allow me to access it i have tried putting wondows onto a usb stick and using that as a recovery point for windows but that did not work every thing i try asks for that password

Thank you for posting in Community, I understand you concern and we apologize for the inconvenience caused.

I would suggest that you follow the steps mentioned below and check if the issue persist:

Step 1: Recovery Environment.

• Go to the “Lock Screen” and press and hold the shift key and click on the
  power icon located on the bottom right corner of the screen.
• You will have to restart your computer, you will be prompted to click on “Restart Anyway”.
• Then you select “Troubleshoot” and click on
  “Advance Option” and locate and select Command Prompt

Step 2: Follow the steps to enable Built-in Administrator account:

• Once you open Command prompt type

net user administrator /active:yes (To disable Built –in Administrator account give the command Active: No).

• Then press ENTER.

Step 3: Switch Account

From the in built administrator account, create a new local account and follow the steps below:

• Click Start and then PC settings.
• Click Users and accounts and under Your Profile click Disconnect on the right of the screen.
• Enter your Microsoft account's password, and click on Next.
• Type in a Username, Password, and Password Hint that you want set for your Local account and click
  Next. Click on Sign out and Finish button.

In order to switch back, follow these steps:

• On the newly converted Local account, click Start and then PC Settings.
• Click Users and accounts and under Your Profile click Connect to a Microsoft account.
• Enter the Microsoft account ID and Password and click Next.
• Choose if you want OneDrive as your default file saving location, click Next.
• Click Switch.

Note: If you have created a local account you can perform the step mentioned above from that account.

No Administrator Rights On The PC (Windows 10)

Step 1:

To start Windows 10 in safe mode with command prompt:

• Press Windows + I keys on the keyboard to open Settings menu.
• Select Update & security and click on Recovery.
• Go to Advanced startup and select
  Restart now.
• After your PC restarts to the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot
  > Advanced options > Startup Settings >Restart.
• After your PC restarts, select a startup setting as Safe Mode with command prompt by pressing the corresponding number.

Step 2:

Follow the below steps to enable Built in Administrator:

• 
  Open Command Prompt from Windows Recovery Environment.
  
• 
  Copy and paste the below command and press Enter.
  

net user administrator /active:yes

3. Close the Command Prompt.

4. Try to login though Built in Administrator and change the other user account privileges to Administrator.

5. You may create new user account also and assign the administrative privileges to the account.

No administrator account on pc

Hi Reon,

Sometimes when your correct User Account login password is not accepted, you must try signing in using the Onscreen keyboard.

On the bottom-right corner of the login screen, click on the ease of access icon and select
On-screen keyboard. Type in your password using the On-screen keyboard and check if you are able to sign in.

However, since you do not have any administrator account, I would suggest you to try going to the Command prompt and enable built in administrator.

If you can reach the User account login screen, follow the steps mentioned below. If you cannot boot into the system at all, then download media creation tool (create Windows 10 installation disc) from the following link and follow the below steps after
booting from the Windows 10 installation disc.

• Press Windows key and click on the Power icon.
• Click on Restart while pressing the
  Shift key.
• A blue screen will appear with a few options.
  Click on Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Command Prompt.
• Now, type in your user account password and once Command prompt opens follow the next steps.
• In Command Prompt type "net user administrator /active:yes".
• Close Command prompt and restart your system.
• Login to the built-in administrator (you don't need a password for built-in admin account) and try to enable your disable User Account.
• Its recommended to create another admin User Account.
• Once you have logged into your new user account, kindly disable built in admin account.
• Type the following command in elevated command prompt: net user administrator /active:no
