Windows 10: my Primary W11 login account has typo,

I found a typo in my primary login email on my laptop. However when I'm trying to update it, it says the email already has MS account. "*@gmail.com is already a Microsoft account. Please try a different email address." I know it is, that's why I wanna change to correct one, not the one with typo. Please advise how to change it, as system doesn't let me to do so.

When I first built my pc and was setting up a Microsoft account I made a typo in my email address. Now that I cant verify it, it will not let me change my correct email to the primary email.

What is the error message you are getting?

Why are you saying it is a typo?

Is the typo on the primary account or is it on a secondary account you have added?

If it is the primary account you will have to hard reset and set it up again.

 

Change Account Primary Alias
