  1. My primary windows hard drive is taking too much space

I was zipping 218 GB files then in middle, I cancelled it. After cancelling, only 103 GB is free while it was 190 GB free before I had started zipping.I think that when I was zipping the files... it took some kind of temporary files or dump in my primary drive. Please help me, how do I clear it ?

    :)

    W7 Hard drive partition issue

to get rid of that 100 meg windows partition that setup creates for you on a new install on a blank hdd:

    - press shift+f10 when on the partition management screen in setup <-- this opens a command prompt
    - diskpart <-- start the windows command line partition management tool
    - list disk <--- list the installed hdds in this computer for the next step
    - select disk 0 <- might have to replace 0 with the number of the correct disk
    - clean <-- this will erase all data on the disk you selected one step up- dont use the wrong disk!
    - create partition primary <- creates a primary partition taking up all space on the drive, adjust the command if necessary
    - exit, exit to exit diskpart and the command prompt
    - click refresh in partition manager and select your newly created partition and install to that

    • In the console tree, click Computer Management (Local), click
Storage, and then click Disk Management.

    • Press the Windows key, and type Diskpart.

    • Click the result to open the DiskPart command prompt window.

    • The first command selects your removable USB drive.

    • The Clean command deletes all the current partitions present on the USB drive.

    • The Create primary partition creates a fresh partition and allocates all the unallocated space on this fresh partition.

    • Type Exit to close the command prompt window.

    • Unplug your USB drive and plug it back again.

    Hope it helps.
