Windows 10: My programs are showing extremely small icons and text

I got a new laptop (ASUS q534ux) and noticed that some of my programs have extremely small text and icons. I am running Windows 10 version 10.0.14393. I've attached images on guitar pro 6 as an example - one of how it displays on my system and one of how it should look. This has been happening to a number of programs on this laptop. Anyone know how to fix this?

Hi,

Have you checked the Display settings of your new laptop? Here's how:

• Right-click on desktop and select Display settings.
• Use the slider to change the size of text, app, and other items. It might be set to 150% by default. Dragging the slider to the right increases the size, while dragging it to the left decreases the size.
• Tap or click the Apply button. A window pops up to let you know that signing out of Windows and signing back in is recommended.

If this doesn't work for you, please contact your manufacturer for better assistance.

I got a new laptop a few months ago (ASUS Q534UX) and I've noticed that in a few of my programs, text and icons are extremely small. I've attached two pictures for comparison - one of how guitar pro 6 should look, and one of how it looks on my system. This
only happens in certain programs. Anyone know a fix?

 

You're right.. the icons in the first picture look like they're "So Far Away".. what a "Nightmare".

Right click Desktop ->Display settings -> Advanced display settings -> and change Resolution to a smaller number, and try it out

 

Unfortunately that did not work, it just scaled everything down. My desktop and programs such as chrome, skype, etc. are all fine. Just certain ones look like that and its really annoying.

 

Looks like some of you programs don't correctly recognise your display resolution settings. Try changing your display resolution to something else. Does it look right now? Then change it back to your normal setting. Hopefully now all your programs will now know the correct display resolution to use.

If that fails, try reinstalling the program. Perhaps it will pick up the correct display setting second time round.

 

It seems to be showing the full screen within the window.
