    My Results Creators Update 1703

    Hi all;
    070917- 4.33pm-est
My updated as noted from Windows version is 10.0.14393 build 14393 aka 1607
to Creators Update 1703 produced the following results.

This is the first time an update with the same version number to just a new build has
forced me to roll back to the previous build.
Reason(s) Build (1703) rendered the one program I use all the time
as inoperative. Compatibility did not solve it.
MS also removed the ability to change system font types
and size, or to bold - however - that can be overcome by
    installing an app. named System-Font-Changer.
The question remains.why did MS remove that feature? Many of
us older folks have very reduced eye sight. Contrast change makes
    it worse.

Many other people have noted other issues to numerous to mention.
For now, I’m stuck at 14393 aka 1607. If I move forward, I lose an important
data based program that works just fine in build 1607
and has been in use for years.
The old saying, “If it ain't broke, don’t fix it.” applies here with
Windows 1703 rolled back from the abyss.

    :)

  3. Showstopper: BIG problems with Outlook MAPI performance after Windows 10 Creator Update (1703)

you can read this thread where I've got answer that it's Windows problem

Showstopper: BIG problems with Outlook MAPI performance after Windows 10 Creator Update (1703)

and it seems Win10 Fall Creator Update (1709) resolved this problem - at least on my tests it shows the same results as before 1703 update.

But I also do not have feedback from customers yet - maybe because 1709 was released just 1 week ago

It's a program from '80s, did you check if they released some new version or an update ?.

    Thanks for reply.
The post was intended as info. not a plea
    for help.
    Paradox 11 works just fine.
    Paradox 7 does not.
My apps are created with Paradox 7
so I want to continue using as long as possible
    regarding backwards compatibility.
Clearly, Build 1703 update will make that impossible.
Therefore, I will postpone the update on all machines
except one. It will get updated and we'll see what
    happens with future updates.

  7. virtualization? try running paradox 7 in hyper-v or vmware.

That's a problem with 10. You can postpone but not indefinitely. Already build 1507 is EOL and is getting no security updates.

It is a worry if you have older hardware or software as you can never tell how much longer it will continue to work although I've been lucky so far.

That feature is probably because most software engineers are in their 20s, have perfect eyesight and pay no concern to the needs of their users. Removing this feature was a really stupid decision. Why provide various accessibility features yet remove the ability to change UI font sizes? I know there is a tutorial to fix this on the forum but users should not have to resort to these solutions.
