Windows 10: My Samsung phone has stopped transferring my videos to my laptop.

My Samsung phone has stopped transferring my videos to my laptop. It has no problems transferring photos and had no problem transferring videos until about 2 months ago. I haven't changed the way I transfer the material. I connect via a USB lead and open File Explorer and then DCIM and cut and paste the photos and previously the videos at the same time. Any ideas why this might have started happening. The photos and videos I take seem to be in Google Photos. I didn't particularly decide to use that app it just seems to default to it and is the only one I have ever used.

To transfer files from the phone to the laptop you must first set up the laptop so it is waiting to receive files. In Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices:

1. Turn on Bluetooth
2. Click on 'Send or receive files via Bluetooth'
3. Click 'Receive files'

When you send a file to the laptop it then ask you to choose where to save it.

It is important after the phone is connected to the PC with a USB cable to swipe from the top of the phone screen to show the notifications. If you can't connect the phone to your PC with a USB cable then the easiest way to get the screenshots from your phone to your PC is to email them to yourself. I just opened my Gmail account on my phone, created a new email, attached the screenshots to it, and emailed them. When I opened the email on my PC I selected to to download the attachment. Note the attachment was a single zip file with the screenshots inside.

 

How to delete a write protected video on a Samsung smart phone

I have taped a video on my Samsung smart phone and then transferred that video to my laptop via a USB cable. Now I cannot delete the video on my phone or laptop , it says it is write protected. Can anyone help please. Thanks
