  1. My Samsung TV and Windows Media Player won't show the subtitles that have been merged with...

So, long story short, I had to download and build a movie like this for certain reason. I have the subtitles in English (.srt file), and my movie in .mp4 format. Many people suggested using MKVtool something and so I did. It worked splendidly but windows media player wouldn't recognise the subtitles in the movie (both subtitles which were .srt and my movie which was and is .mp4 into one file that is my movie, an .mp4). I tried the same movie with VLC media player and the subtitles were perfect. I also read some things online about Windows Media Player not supporting .srt and another one type of subtitles file but I even got the same subtitles on the same language but on another subtitle file format and it wouldn't show them. Well it's not like I care about that since VLC can do the work instead, but when I try to cast the movie from my laptop (windows 10) to my Samsung Smart TV, the movie will play smoothly but the subtitles won't be shown. Isn't MKVtool supposed to make an .mp4 file/movie that already has the subtitles in it? Is there another way to do it, please suggest another software that coult do that, so both my Samsung TV and media player can play the movie I want on my TV and not on my laptop while using VLC.

  3. Subtitles are not working in Windows 10 Media Player and in Film & TV app

    Hi, DaveM121

Yes the file is in SRT format.

In Film & TV app the indicated button is not coming/visible.

In Windows 10 Media Player the subtitles is turned ON (if available) but no subtitle is coming/visible.

Windows 10 - Subtitles in Recorded TV WTV files.

I used Windows 7 Media Center to record a few thousands of DVB-T TV shows. Many of these show include Subtitles that can only be seen when played back in Media Center.

After upgrade to Windows 10 I can no longer see te Subtitles. Windows Media Player has some settings of Subtiles but no matter how the settings are adjusted I can not see the subtitles.

I have tried many other playerers but none could show the subtitles.

I have reverted to WIndows 7 for now.

Are there somebody out there that can help with this problem ?

    Codec information summary:

    Sound:

    MPEG ACC Audio (mp4a)

    Subtitles:

    DVB Subtitles (dvbs)

    Language Danish

    Video:

    H264-MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (h264)

    Thank You
