Windows 10: My screen flashes black when I try to right click on files in Windows 11

When right clicking on files on the desktop to access file options: the menu does not appear, the *thinking circle* spins over the mouse cursor, the screen flashes black and then reappears, the task bar is gone for a few seconds and then comes back. I also can't right click on the background to bring up screen options, the same thing happens when right clicking a file either on the desktop or in Windows Explorer. I tried restarting Window Explorer. Right clicking inside of Windows Explorer does the same behavior but also closed the Windows Explorer window.I followed advice from this thread: ht

Black Screen after Log on

So this is not a BSOD ? Have a Windows 10 disc or USB Flash Drive made ? How are you getting to task manager Ctrl.+Alt+Del ? Any cursor on screen ?
