Windows 10: my screen is red with an exclamation point in a triangle then Microsoft Edge below is stop...

I was getting ready to use the snipping tool and when I reopened setting and updates, the list of updates waiting to be downloaded was gone and the red exclamation point was gone. it just said updates available........ ready to download. It seems to go back
and forth between these various screens.

If it comes back I"ll send the screenshot. I really feel it is Microsoft's effort to try to get me to download them. Red exclamation points tend to get people's attention.

What do you think is going on? THanks Remember, I have not put on updates for about two months or FCU. Prior to the FCU release, I put on all my updates every time with maybe one fail.

THIS FCU is a pestilence.

What's this red triangle?

1. Select a destination

2. Navigation running.

3. Before reaching destintion, I disable navigation.

4. My Position has a Red Triangle instead of a usual round Red Spot.



Any idea what's the Red Triangle for?

i have my laptop on a metered connection to avoid the fall creator update. Once in a while a yellow exclamation point used to show up and then disappear. Updates say they are ready to be downloaded but they're not due to the metered connections. Now there
is red exclamation point.

I have read other posts on this but they give error messages and other information.

Personallly I think this is MS's way of scaring me into putting on the updates. Is this possible?

I have been delaying the FCU since November. I bet if I put updates on now it would be a mess. Perhaps I made the wrong decision from the outset but what's done is done.

my laptop works fine (FCU downloaded 13 times but tailed to install because i didn't hit "restart"
