Windows 10: My screenshots are not going into the picture folder anymore.

The tool to capture screenshots works but I don't see any of the images being saved when I search for them, I recently did a PC reset so that might be the cause.I have restarted the computer, and I tried to look for where possibly the pictures might be getting directed at. No luck so far.

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

• I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

• Then I tried to remove the Pictures folder with option one at Add or Remove Folders from This PC in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials. Even after rebooting, the Pictures folder remained.
• So I tried using option two. Same thing: reboot >> Pictures folder still there.

• Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.

That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.

I suspect they still go to the default location but that you modified this location. You can find out what it is like so:

1. Mark the code line below (it extends over two screen lines) and press Ctrl+C to copy it.
2. Press the Windows key + R
3. Press Ctrl+V to paste the code line, then press Enter.

cmd /c reg query "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders" /v "my pictures" & pause

I tried to use the combination Windows + PrtScr keys today and it will not send captured screens to the default screenshots picture folder any longer.I can open paint and paste it.Just cannot screen capture in that manner anymore.
