Windows 10: My search box has disappeared from task bar. I can't get it back again.

How can I get the search box back, it appears an update removed it. Is this related to Cortana which I've never used.

Windows 10. Totally frustrated novice. Control panel, when you can find it appears to have changed also as I can't find search information from there or Microsoft file.

Can you please help, I'm a old lady, novice.

  Right click on the task bar.

  Go to Cortana.

- Are you using desktop mode or tablet mode?

If you are using desktop mode and facing this issue I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps:

1. Right on the task bar and select
Cortana.

2. Click on Show search bar.

Check if this helps.

If you are on tablet mode, the search bar will not appear.
