At the beginning of the month my computers updated and stopped connecting to each other. After resolving my initial errors by re-enabling file and printer sharing, I noticed my printers wouldn't connect. If I look in the file explorer and browse through the network to the print server, the printers are visible and online. However, attempting to connect to them yields a 0x00000bc4 error code, and "Cannnot connect to printer". All printers have sharing enabled, all network computers can see the printers, all have private network configured and printer and file sharing enabled. Uninstalling updat

Win 10 Network Printer Connection Problem

I have tried, when using the wifi from a Win 7 computer to connect to the printer connected to it. Others can connect.

I did do the three steps outlined:

    • Open File Explorer. Pick the "Network" icon from the left pane (navigation pane) of the file explorer UI.
    • If sharing is turned off you will see a pale yellow line towards the top of the window that states "Network Discovery is turned off. Network computers and devices are not visible. Click to change...".
    • Click this bar and select "Turn on network discovery and file sharing"

    None of the suggestion worked.

I did notice that the PC I'm connecting to is 'Private' while I am listed as 'Public'.

    • Can this be causing the problem?
    • Are there other suggestions?

I need to be connected to use the other printer so work flow can not be disrupted and someone else needs to print the file for me.

I will be with this group again on Monday.

    Thank you.

    Can't connect to remote printer

I thought this would solve my problem since I have the IP addresses of two of the printers . alas when I click "My printer is not listed, I get the Windows 10 Error Message "Windows can't open Add Printer. The local print spooler service is not running. Please restart the spooler or restart the machine". I have not been able to restart the spooler and I have restarted the machine umpteen times.

    Can't connect to remote printer

If you can find out what the IP of the printer is. Here's what I did, it's tucked away in Settings/Devices.

Click add a printer or scanner in this screen.

My shared printers are visible on the private network but none of my remote connections can... 30241d1485954161t-cant-connect-remote-printer-p0.jpg

Then click "the printer that I want isn't listed.

My shared printers are visible on the private network but none of my remote connections can... 30242d1485954161t-cant-connect-remote-printer-p1.jpg

In this screen there are various options to try.

My shared printers are visible on the private network but none of my remote connections can... 30244d1485954161t-cant-connect-remote-printer-p2.jpg

You can try the IP in both boxes, seems to work

My shared printers are visible on the private network but none of my remote connections can... 30245d1485954161t-cant-connect-remote-printer-p3.jpg

    then hopefully

My shared printers are visible on the private network but none of my remote connections can... 30247d1485954161t-cant-connect-remote-printer-p4.jpg

Why it's tucked away beggars belief.
