Windows 10: My shift key is working and also the number 9 key is working but I cannot get open bracket...

My shift key is working and also the number 9 key is working but I cannot get open bracket key while pressing shift+9, Why??? I gets closed bracket when I press shift+0 but I don't get open bracket. Why is it so??

Ctrl,shift and alt keys are working with number pad but window key combination not working

I have attached external keyboard from Lenovo to DELL laptop with 64bit win10. When I tried to use Ctrl,shift and alt keys with number combination from number pad, its working but with windows key combination the numbers from num pad is not working. I have to use the numbers which is top from the letters, which is making difficult to open/switch taskbar items. Any suggestion/solution will be highly appreciated.

 

laptop shift keys stopped working

right and left shift keys stopped working while i was typing on word 2010.

when i pressed shift with question mark it displays this /

when i press shift with open bracket it displays this 9

when i press shift with another letter it displays a lowercase letter. i have to press caps lock in order to type uppercase letters.

the shift keys don't work as well when i type texts on firefox browser. i haven't tried typing on other browsers. i am not computer savvy.

in attempt to fix this problem i did the following:

unchecked sticky keys

system restore

updated keyboard driver

tried typing in safe mode

messed with region and language options location, keyboards and languages, change system locale, as i am outside US

all to no avail. both shift keys are still not working.

however, on-screen keyboard left and right shift keys are working properly and i am able to type the following characters: @ ! & % ( ) + ~ * ^%$ Caps

i am typing a document that has to be completed in five days' time and it's really difficult without the shift keys.

please help me fix this problem. thank you.

 

shift key not working

the shift key as stopped working. I tried a lot of what I can find in the internet (sticky key, driver, hit 5 or 7 or 9 time the shift key) with not success. can anyone help. running windows 10. If I try another keyboard it work, as anyone ever heard
of just the shift key stop working.
