Windows 10: my son can't sign in into his live account and we go in full circles

Hi,The problem started a couple of days ago1. My son changed the pin code of his computer2, he forgot it3. he tried a couple of times and then pressed on forgot the pin4. he signed in to the pop up with email and got a security code5. till he opened the mail on another computer to get the security code the pop up closed6. microsoft decided that the account is suspicious and suspended it6. he can login to the computer with the password but in order to change the pin he needs to sign in into his account7. he tries to unlock the account8. any number we provide in getting verification code, is sai

Endless Loop, Microsoft Family Always Asking My Son to 'Sign In To Verify Account'

I've had this issue for several weeks. Microsoft Family keeps prompting me to have my son "sign in to verify his account" of his Surface Pro and his XBox. We follow the provided instructions (navigating to aka.ms/familyverify and signing in) but the 'alert' never goes away. And it's not clear how we can do this on an XBox anyway. I've tried the suggested troubleshooting steps on other Microsoft Community threads, but none of them have made a difference.
