Windows 10: My sound keeps going down

I've looked across and found people with similar issues but everyone that has answered literally do not understand the problem. When I plug in my headphones the volume is constantly trying to lower itself, but this isn't a device issue because my headphones have their own volume slider which is separate from windows and when you change that slider the windows 10 audio mixer is unaffected, however when the headphones are plugged in the audio mixer slider on widows 10 is constantly going down, when you try to put it up, it goes back down. The problem isn't with a volume button on my computer as the problem doesn't happen when headphones aren't connected, and the problem isn't with the headphones because the volume slider doesn't affect windows audio mixer. When I plug in different headphones I don't have the issue but I would rather solve the issue as these headphones are quite expensive. Restarting my computer fixes it but after a while it will start happening again and I don't want to have to restart my laptop whenever my sound messes up.

Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

This issue can be due to several reasons. Let's get your audio and sound issue sorted, we suggest that you follow the steps provided below:

• Press Windows key.
• Type Control Panel in the search box.
• Select Sound.
• Go to Communications tab.
• Click Do nothing.
• Chose Apply and Ok.

Sound Quality

One thing that sticks out from looking at your "My Computer" specs. You list "ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)" which suggests you do not have the correct sound hardware driver. Your motherboard has Realtek sound and the first step is to install the Realtek sound drivers. My ASUS also came with Sonic Studio 2 which is a sound enhancement package. Check the ASUS install disc to see if you have something similar.

May not be a speaker problem.
