My speaker sony srs-xb100 connects to the laptop but does not play the sound. checked the drivers,etc everything is in order. Whats the solution?

Sound not coming from bluetooth speaker

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help with my Sony SRS-XB100 speaker. It connects to my Windows laptop via Bluetooth perfectly, but there's no sound coming out. My laptop speakers work fine, and the speaker itself works with other devices.

I've tried the usual troubleshooting steps, setting it as the default device, restarting everything and uninstalling the audio/Bluetooth/speaker driver. Any suggestions on what else I could try to get the audio working?

Sony SRS-XB10 speakers connection to laptop

Hi all

Have Sony SRS-XB10 speakers which connect to my laptop but show up as "headphones" and I cannot get any audio from this as it seems the connection has to be via the jack plug.

Speakers take AGES to actually connect, my laptop connects instantly to a Macbook and the speakers work fine on the Macbook and iphones.

Have tried updating all drivers and trying every diagnostic tool I can lay my hands on.

Talked to Sony but they say it is a laptop problem.

My laptop is a Dell Inspiron N5110

hope somebody can help...... been trying for days!!

Were you able to check if the speaker device is set as default audio device when plugged in. Kindly follow these steps:

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Click Sound. Under the Sound tab, click Manage Audio Devices.
3. On the Playback tab, click your headset, and then click the Set Default button.
