My speakers don't appear as a possible output device, nor my Device Manager. How to fix...

My speakers functioned for most the time I've owned this laptop, but for some reason a few months ago don't know the exact date my speakers no longer show up as a output device, so they don't work. They don't even appear as a possible output device, with the laptop seemingly being unable to detect them in any way. I've also dug through my Device Manager, and they don't appear there either so I'm, unsure as to how I can use it to restore the speakers. It there a way to make my speakers once more appear as a sound output device?

    :)

How to separate audio outputs in playback devices

That is what i did when I reinstalled the drivers. First it only had the speakers, added drivers, HDMI appeared, plugged in second analog port which is detected in realtek HD audio manager but is not listed as a second output. All three devices are dectected, but the two analog devices don't appear as separate output devices.

    Device Manager Un-Hiding Hidden Devices

When you connect a plug and play device, Windows Plug and Play manager detects it, finds and installs the driver. Device Manager lists the device with a solid icon.

The driver is only removed when you uninstall the device, not simply by disconnecting the device. When the device is disconnected, its driver is still installed. By default, Device Manager only displays connected devices. When you show hidden devices, note the Bluetooth icon you see is semi-transparent (not opaque). That indicates a "non-present" device. Sometimes also called a "ghost" device. The driver is still installed but the device is not currently detected (i.e. not connected).

    Device can be disconnected when
    • Device unplugged (e.g. removing a USB device)
    • Turning a device OFF
    • Disabling the device in BIOS (then windows won't detect it) or
    • Device failure

    So
    • Check BIOS as suggested
    • Check board connections
    • Can b/t be turned off by a switch? or keyboard combination?
Also possible the b/t h/w failed
