My laptop with Windows 11 died. I took it to a repair service and they said after 6 days it's dead for good and I bought a new laptop and put an ssd from the dead body to a new laptop.Now the ssd asks for a bitlocker key.I never activated bitlocker myself. The only possibility is that it was activated automatically when I did microsoft login in windows on the old laptop. But it would save the key on my microsoft account automatically, right??? It would be totally crazy to keep the key on an encrypted disk itself and never ask me to back up it, right?So, is there any possibility that I had the

Everytime i restart my laptop, my second ssd is locked by bitlocker.

I cloned my main ssd yesterday, i got windows 11 to boot but my second ssd is always locked after a restart and theres also no bitlocker options on the laptop. How can i fix it?

 

BitLocker: turn on auto-unlock without encrypting OS Drive (SSD)

Thats not an ideal configuration for BitLocker, especially a system file such as pagefile.sys. You are basically locking out the operating system from accessing it. You really should make sure the SSD is also encrypted too.

Also, I hope you are not storing things like the recovery key on a local drive and you have a printed copy of it. Because if any of those drives experience a problem, you are gonna need it.
