Windows 10: My SSD is out of space and my desktop has basically become inoperative because of the lack...

My computer came with 2 drives HDD and SSD. The OS was installed on the SSD and is now out of space and basically rendering the desktop pretty much useless. I cannot install any security updates/patches/etc. nor can I install any of the latest updates/SP's.The HDD is 900GB+ and is mostly unused. I have NO free space on the SSD where the OS is installed. What is the best way to move the OS from one drive to the other and is this even possible? I've read several topics re: installing a new drive and cloning the drive where the OS is installed. However, I have not seen anything where it r

Copying files to Desktop: "There is not enough space on Desktop"

Hello,

Copying files from external HD to my new PC and:

"There is not enough space on Desktop. You need an additional 210 GB to copy these files"

I have 2 drives on the machine:

• SSD (for apps)
• HD (1.8 Tb for files) .. when I copy files to desktop, they should technically go into the HD, right? (see presets below, file are set to go into the HD, not the SDD) ... but they DIDN'T, they all went into the SSD !

I cannot install windows 10 updates. Lack of space I try clearing space but cannot get to option 2 install usb.

I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

• Right click on the blank space on desktop.
• Click on View.
• Uncheck Align icons to grid.
