So I have a stackmat timer and it is getting recognized as a headphone device and not a microphone how do I change it to a microphone?

Headphone Jack does not recognize headset microphone

Hello,

Since a couple days the 3.5mm headphone jack of my computer does not recognize my headset microphone. When its plugged in the audio output works, but it says there is no microphone connected. It does recognize the headphones (audio output).

I already tried all of the following troubleshooting tips:

• The headset works on other devices (Laptop with Windows 11, PlayStation)
  
• Adjusting privacy settings.
  
• Enabling microphone in device manager (however this is not possible because it says its not connected)
  
• Reinstalling the device in control panel.
  
• Updating drives, windows etc.
  
• Other headsets also have the same problem on that port.
  

 

my YJ timer "a microphone" is recognied as headphones

I recently bought a timer used for speedcubing YJ timer. you can connect it to a computer so i can save my times. the problem is that the timer is supposed to be recognised as a microphone but is instead recognisec as headphones. it is supposed to connect to a website called CStimer. it isnt a problem with the site.
is there any way to just manually change the recognision of the device?

 

Computer won't recognize headset microphone

This is what i see in device manager. Im not sure if the Speakers/Headphones (Realtek High Definition Audio) is the one your saying to disable, as that is what is default in playback devices in the sounds panel.

Setting Stereo Mix as the default recording device and disabling everything else still didnt get the mic working, even when the headset is plugged into the microphone only audio port or the mic + sound audio port.
