Windows 10: My start menu programs are gone

    My start menu programs are gone


    All my Start menu programs have disappeared and the menu has apparently reconfigured itself to only a few basic programs like Notepad, File Explorer, This PC etc. All other programs and third party programs I've installed are not displayed. The entire Start menu now extends from the top of my screen to the bottom with about 2/3 of the menu just a blank blue display. Tried system restore twice but it failed both times and reverted to this odd display. I can see the programs and folders in File Explorer but the Start menu is wonky.
