Windows 10: My storage is way over then it should be.

Hello, I have no idea why but my storage on my laptop is way over the amount it should be. It's about 31GB over, i should have 140GB but instead I have 98.7G. I have checked my storage for the highest storage consuming app on my computer but the largest one is only over 1GB. It might have some relation to me uninstalling ark which is 140GB then trying to reinstall, but since it didn't reinstall I uninstalled it again. If someone could please explain why this is happening I would very much appreciate it. I also don't know if I need t see a technician or otherwise. -Thank you

Windows 10 Home will not boot or restart with USB Storage Spaces pool drives attached

I suggest you to update Storage controller drivers and check if it helps.

Steps 1:

• 
  Press Windows key + X.
  
• 
  Select Device manager.
  
• 
  Expand Storage controller.
  
• 
  Right click on the driver and Update the drivers.
  

Steps 2: Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue
is with device. Refer these steps:

• 
  Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
  
• 
  Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
  
• 
  Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.
  
• 
  Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter.

Internal Storage devices being detected as removable devices

I would suggest you to update your storage controller driver.

Method 1: Update Storage Controller Driver

Follow the steps.

• Press Windows key + X key and click Device Manager.
• Expand the Storage Controller.
• Right-click on the Storage controller Driver
  and select Update Driver Software.
• Wait for sometime and check if the issue persists.
• Restart your system.

Method 2: Uninstall and then reinstall Storage Controller driver from the Manufacturer's Website

Follow the steps.

• Press Windows key + X key and click Device Manager.
• Expand the Storage Controller.
• Right-click on the Storage controller Driver
  and select Uninstall.
• Now, go to the Manufacturer's website and download the latest storage controller driver.
• Once the download is complete, double-click and run the setup file to complete installation.
• Restart your system.

Any way to downgrade ver. of MS Storage spaces volume w/o data loss?

1. Install Windows 1607 & 1709 dual boot system
2. Connect two free disks
3. Boot into 1607
4. Create storage pool, assign two free disks, create two-way mirror volume
5. Copy data to new volume
6. Reboot into 1709
7. Upgrade your Storage Space pool to gain new features as MS suggests
8. Reboot into 1607
9. Your Storage Space configuration looks now as in the picture, volume is inaccessible
10. Notice that doing step 7 was not the smartest idea, data are now accessible only from Windows 1709.

Question: Is it possible to simply revert Storage Spaces metadata back to version 1607? Answer: No. It is necessary to backup data, destroy upgraded pool, create new pool & mirror in Windows 1607, and restore data.

Is it so hard to understand what necros asks for?
