Windows 10: My storage suddenly went down from 40gb to 30gb left to only 8gb.

My storage was originally 40gb left, I then installed something from a sketchy website and it didn't download so i uninstalled it and i was left with 30gb. I tried to download it again but this time ended up I with 8gb left. I used Windows to try solve the problem and it worked for a bit but went back to 8gb. I now don't know what to do please help. I'm using Windows 11 64bit system.

40GB gone after an update?

Hello,

I recently did a simple update on my computer. It was only a cumulative update, so I thought nothing of it.

But when I restarted my computer, suddenly the free space available on my hard drive went from 100gb down to 60gb (I have a 200gb ssd).

I'm really not sure where those 40gb went, or what could possibly take up that much after an update.

I did notice that in the storage settings, apparently 94gb are for "system & reserved". Most of that looks to be virtual memory (40gb, though I do have 40gb of actual memory so I can somewhat understand that) and the hibernation file (16gb).

Is that where it all went? If so, then where was all that space before I did an update?

If not, then does someone have some clue where all that space went, and how I could get it back?

Lumia 950 Windows 10 keeps saying "Low Storage / My Phone is Low on Storage Space" whereas I have more than 29 Go left.

I'm having both of these issues as well:

• "Low Storage" with 10gb of free space - 30gb total
• Error code 0x800703F8 when trying to update apps

If the capacity of your hard drive is below 30GB. i highly suggest that you need to upgrade the storage of your computer as Windows OS consumes
20 to 30GB alone. not including the Windows updates

if you have a larger C: drive storage. and still your storage getting full.

try performing a Factory Reset or a Reset without keeping anything. and move your personal files on another storage first before performing this.
