Windows 10: My Stuff disappeared

Read post #12 again.
His "My Stuff" appeared after he typed something in the search box.

 

I can confirm that I now have the My Stuff section...but only after typing in something as well. I never noticed that before, and I use search often.

 

in earlier version of win 10 it was in plain site near the top left of the search dialog popup along with internet and another choice I can remember .. I think anyway ,almost positive

 

I can confirm than no matter what I type in, I do not have My Stuff

 

I typed a word into Search a number of times but My Stuff did not appear like it did in #12. It seems different things appear depending on which version of Windows 10 a person has. I am still looking for a solution as I used this feature quite often and found it invaluable.

Odd. I typed several different things into the search box, opened and closed it several times, and no My Stuff ever appeared. But since I never used this feature, I am not missing a thing.

 

It shows for me if I type something in.

 

My set up is exactly same as the set up shown in post number 8. At the bottom of my "search" screen I can choose to look in apps or files or music or settings or internet, etc. So if I enter the word "Bob" in the search box for example, I can choose to look where ever I want, and obviously most of the areas are My Stuff, including files and music etc.

 

Microsoft ID or local account? Just a wild guess?

 

I have my Windows 10 system st up with a Microsoft ID.

 

Strange indeed- build 318, whether live id login or local user I get the search options displayed in Cortana, and not My Stuff now.

UK English.

Noted that logged in using my live id, the options were at the top of the Cortana box, whilst as a local user they were at the bottom (assuming no other factor affected this).

MS posts suggest this:

Type in "indexing" in your Cortana search box, click "indexing options" and a box will pop up with the locations you have designated to be searched. If the drive or drives you want to include are not listed, click "modify" and add them by checking the ones you want. Be sure to include the drive your Windows 10 is installed on or you won't get the "My Stuff" to show up.

However I've not yet found this to work

 

Hi, had this problem myself.
Go into Cortana settings turn every thing off, restart, turn Cortana and anything else you require back on.
worked for me.

 

Ok, It was just a wild hunch. Now I'm back to ???
