Windows 10: My subscription lapsed and I can’t even get into my HP

With my windows subscription lapsed, I can’t even get my computer open without some 4 digit code which I don’t have I didn’t set the thing up. If I resubscribe, will it automatically ask me for my password which I do know?

Office 365 subscription

I paid £60 for a year's subscription fee yesterday and on attempting to access Word on the computer today, it comes up with a box advising that my subscription has lapsed and I need to renew it!

This is preventing me from working from home. I cannot access a Word document that requires amendment as the pop-up box re the subscription prevents me going any further.
