Windows 10: My surface laptop 3's screen has been flickering and is distorted for over 8 hours now.

My surface laptop 3's screen has been flickering and is distorted for over 8 hours now. I've tried to restart, ensure have all the latest updates, checked that the graphics driver is up-to-date as well but nothing seems to resolve the problem. I'm on Windows 11. Any ideas?

Windows Surface Laptop 3 Screen Flicker

I have a Surface Laptop 3 which I recently upgraded to Windows 11 which developed this sudden screen-flicker whenever the screen remained idle and no activity was being completed.

The screen will not flicker if the laptop enters Battery Saver Mode, but the screen will still flicker in standard power mode even while the screen is dimmed.

I tried looking in the communities and previous community threads and found similar issues with switching between dark and bright windows which is automatically adjusted which may be related, but I believe this is a completely separate issue that I do not think is hardware related.

Hi,

When in normal screen, only desktop wallpaper colour will distorts and has screen flickering. But when i plug in my PC to charge all problem will stop automatically.

Pls suggest any possible solution.

 

Surface Laptop 3 with external monitor

Hi All,

Has anyone come across an issue with an external monitor blacking out while connected to a Surface Laptop 3? I have the laptop connected to a widescreen laptop with the Surface Dock. Both work fine however, once every hour or so the external monitor blacks out and comes back.

I've completed the following:

• Updated laptop drivers and firmware
  • Updated monitor drivers
  • Swapped out monitor
