Windows 10: My surface pro 4 has a DP to HDMI cord but my computer doesn't detect the monitor I am...

So I had this problem since I was still trying to make things work for me. When I got this cord from my dad we set the monitor I had up and everything was perfect. While was setting up my cord though I had and when I set it up I bumped into it and boom came down the resolution. When I checked what my computer said was my second display it was saying DP2 HDMI 20001 not my LG widescreen. I really need tips on how to fix it or else I am going to be playing in pixels to pixels while on my wide screen. I have tried the device manager changing the drives but it made my screen worse. What Cable To Use on Monitor with HDMI, and VGA Port on Computer

Some computers have DP (DisplayPort) ports, but no HDMI ports. If this is the case, and the monitor doesn´t have a DP port, use a DP to HDMI converter and a HDMI to HDMi cable.

 

HDMI cable not detected by computer

I want to connect to a monitor or TV with HDMI. No signal to either. Monitor says "no signal coming from your computer".

I have tried with no success:

• HDMI directly into Nvidia 980 HDMI slot
  
• HDMI directly into motherboard slot, Intel i6700k with integrated graphics
  
• HDMI indirectly into HDMI(female)-to-Displayport(male) adapter, into Nvidia 980 Displayport slots
  

I have verified:

• Cable plugged into second computer, connected fine to monitor and TV
  
• Tried different HDMI cable, same results on both computers
  
• Displayport slots on Nvidia 980 work on monitor with DP-mDP cable
  
• Both monitor and TV are 4k. Output is 4k on other computer, and 4k using Displayport on this computer.
  
• Used newest graphics driver for Nvidia 980
  
• Used old graphics driver (2020) for Nvidia 980
  

All cases, other computer connected successfully and this computer received "no signal"

Other than the hardware checks and the driver checks, I am not sure what other steps I should try.

Since it applies to both Nvidia 980 and motherboard, and since Displayport works but HDMI through Displayport doesn't work, I feel like there is some issue in the computer working with HDMI signals.

Mini DP to HDMI on MS-Surface Pro

My Mini DP to HDMI is not transmitting audio after I upgraded from Win 8.1 to Win 10. Video is being transmitted okay but there is no audio.

My Device is MS-Surface Pro Core i7; 8GB/500GB

Please let me what to do to fix this
