My system had rebooted when I came to login today. The password that I have had for years no longer works. Has the latest security upgrade changed the login process?The login phrase I have used for years is made up of numbers letters and special characters. Now I am stopped after the first three numerals.when I change the login method to password without it asking for my email address of which I have many the password I enter is considered wrong.I can log into Microsoft on my phone using the authenticator tool. I am writing this on a windows 10 system. How do I regain access to my Windo

Password issue

After going through the steps to make a new password, after a week or two, my login credentials are no longer valid. I'm forced to make a new password all over again. It seems to happen if I don't login in a certain period of time. Does our passwords expire???

 

No login password craziness

Brink, that was the missing step. What threw me off was in netplwiz, where it asks about password for my MS account, the user name was not the same as my MS account name. Once I entered the password (twice) I can now login without entering a password. In fact the name that was listed was not the MS account name, but a folder name. The folder is the one that shows when you click on C:\Users.

Windows 10 Login password request

There's no way to do it. If you were, the system would lose the ability to perform all the online account functions.

There are alternatives though:

• Set the system to only ask for a password during a full actual reboot, so you never have to use a password when the computer is just coming back from sleep mode (this is my suggestion because no one should ever do a "real" shutdown these days).

• Use PIN login instead (like a cell phone), which is faster/easier to put in quickly
