My system suddenly became really slow

2 days ago, everything was working fine. I didn't have any lags etc, but next day when I wanted to play a game called cs2, my fps went from 100 i used to have it normally to around 10-25. It's massive difference. After this game ended all system became really laggy. I tried uninstalling some apps so I'll have more memory, but it didn't work out so I restarted my laptop fabrically. After the restart was done, I still have low fps in games and overall everything is really slow, opening apps, even sound is sometimes bugging because of those lags. I've already tried optimization of my system, but

  3. Lenovo laptop suddenly slow

I have a new Lenovo E580 laptop (bought January 2019) which suddenly started to run very slow. I have especially noticed it with build times in Visual Studio and loading times for a local website in IIS.

I have tried to reinstall Windows 10 Pro by formatting the entire computer but it’s still slow.

    Laptop spec:

    • Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
    • CPU: i7-8550U 2.00GHz
    • 16 GB RAM
    • 512 SSD

Software where I really notice the slowness:

    • Visual Studio Community 2019 Version 16.3.9
    • IIS to Windows 10

I have tried to setup an older laptop with the same software installed as the new laptop, to compare the loading times. The old laptop has a very similar spec. (i7-4700MQ 2.40GHz, 16GB RAM, 256 SSD). The load time for a local website on the new laptop is 78 seconds where on the old is 30 seconds. On the new laptop it used to be around 30 seconds as well.

It’s not just Visual Studio and IIS that is slow it’s the entire laptop. I thought it would be fixed by reinstalling Windows but there were no improvements. I suspect it’s a hardware issue, but I don’t get any errors, and everything looks fine.

Does anyone have suggestions to what I can try to pinpoint this issue or is it better to contact Lenovo support, as the new laptop is still under warranty?

  4. My system suddenly became really slow

    my sytem is suddenly slow

    Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing some frustrating performance issues with my Lenovo IdeaPad 310 running Windows 10. About 20 days ago, I noticed that Google Chrome started to become slow and freeze, especially when switching tabs, watching videos, or even just scrolling. I tried switching to Microsoft Edge and then to Firefox, but the problem persisted, leading me to believe it's not browser-specific but an issue with the laptop itself.

Here are the steps I've taken so far to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Ran RAM diagnostics - No issues found.
    2. Performed full antivirus scans (both online and offline) - No threats detected.
    3. Executed the sfc /scannow command - No integrity violations found.
    4. Used Lenovo Diagnostics Tool - Tested drives, CPU, RAM, and GPU, all results came back fine.
Additionally, I've encountered a couple of strange incidents where:

    • The laptop was working normally, but then the fan noise suddenly stopped, and the keyboard stopped responding (though the Num Lock light stayed on but couldn't be toggled). The mouse still worked, and I could open apps, but they would freeze immediately.
    • During these incidents, the fan would suddenly start running very high, then slow down, and repeat this cycle until I forced the laptop to shut down. The shutdown process would freeze, requiring me to hold the power button for about 10 seconds to turn it off. After this, the laptop wouldn’t turn back on with a single press of the power button; I had to hold it for 10 seconds, let go, and then press it again to start the laptop.
Despite these efforts and observations, my laptop remains sluggish, especially when using any type of browser. Has anyone else experienced similar issues or can suggest any additional troubleshooting steps? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance for your assistance.
