Steps taken in troubleshootingUnplugging all USB devices - no goRemove and replace RAM - no goSeating a single RAM board and running memtest86 which passes - no goReplacing install drive m.2 with known good drive - no goRemoving GPU RTX 4090 to rely on onboard gpu for installation - no goRemoving all PCIe cards - no goResetting BIOS to default values - no goUpdating MB BIOS - no goBy "no go" I mean no change in behavior - install BSODs between 0 and 12 percent of file copy. Worth noting is that all drives reported 0 errors, smart or otherwise, the entire system is less than 6 months old. C

"Device Encryption" -- Implications for Image Backup and Bare-Metal Restore?

Ross -- Thanks very much for your reply. Now that we are communicating, can you address my original question: What happens with image backups and potential bare-metal recovery of a system whose system volume has been encrypted with "device encryption?"
I'm planning to use ShadowProtect by Storagecraft for backup and recovery, but the same question would seem to apply to the built-in Windows image-backup feature. Specifically:

    1) Is all of this transparent to the user, or is there a point when the encryption key must be provided during the bare-metal recovery process?

    2) If I've never signed in with a Microsoft account, I would not have access to any recovery key, but also the system should not have automatically encrypted. Correct? Is it then transparent across an image backup and bare-metal recovery, or are any other
    steps involved?

Thanks again for your help! --
