Windows 10: My tab key is highlighting random things on my screen and its causing issues

the highlighted part is where I'm clicking tab this is a new issue I don't know how to stop it and before you ask yes i tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I've tried the change language and restart and put it back and I reset my computer I don't know how to change it back and its very annoying because now I can't even click tab+ shift to open steams window

Using the tab key to hop between text fields highlights all buttons

Hello,
Whenever a dialog box pops up in Windows 10, if it contains text input fields and clickable buttons/radio buttons/checkboxes, pressing the tab key steps through every single item in the dialog box, which is very annoying and, to me, pointless. Do I recall that there might be a way to limit this behaviour so the tab key only highlights text input boxes, and not every single element? I can't find anything useful in Windows 10's Settings/Control Panel - am I missing something or is this not possible?

Let’s try simple troubleshooting steps and check if this helps.

Method 1.

I would suggest you to change the theme and check if the issue still persist.

• 
  Type theme on the Windows search bar and select change theme.
  
• 
  Now try changing the theme.
  

If the issue still persist, try the below method.

Method 2.

I recommend you to uninstall/reinstall the display adapter driver and check. Follow the below steps:

• 
  Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device manager.
  
• 
  Locate for display adapter and click on it to expand.
  
• 
  Right click on the device and click on
  uninstall.
  
• 
  Once you are done uninstalling the driver, restart the computer. It will automatically install the generic display adapter driver.
  

If this doesn’t help to fix the issue. I suggest you to update the display adapter driver. Skip step3 from the above steps and right click on the
device and click on update.

Method 3.

If the above method did not help to fix the issue, I would suggest you to
go to the computer manufacturer website and download the latest display adapter driver. If the display driver is not available for Windows 10, try installing the available driver in compatibility mode and check.

  Right-click on the setup file of the driver and select Properties.
  
• 
  Select Compatibility tab.
  
• 
  Check Run this program in Compatibility mode.
  
• 
  Let the driver install and then check the functionality.

Tab key stopped working

To resolve your issue, follow the steps below:

• Press and hold Alt-key.
• Press 0 0 9 on the numeric pad.
• Release the Alt-key.

This is the alternate method of getting a TAB character.
