  1. My teen is able to bypass all parental controls. How can I put a stop to it?

On my windows 10 home edition desktop, I have one admin account and the other accounts are set to local. I thought that my admin account would be the only account that could download any software or make changes to the computer or router. I only use the computer if I need to do something that cant be done with my phone.

I also have a Asus ax3000 router with parental controls. I started to notice that some devices still had internet access but it was supposed to be blocked or turned off. I figured that I should reset the router to factory and set everything up again.

The computer was signed into a local account and taking a long time to log out. I tried to hold the power button but it wouldn’t shut down so i power cycled it. Windows wouldnt start until I disconnected the external hard drive. Once the cpu started it automatically logged into a local account. I thought that only admin accounts could do that.

I reset the router and google how to set up auto login. I learned about the hidden admin account. I started to watch YouTube videos on how to disable auto login and settings for my router. I tried to use the router app but it kept timing out and freezing. I don’t know if my computer was being controlled remotely or if i was being paranoid. I ended up reinstalling windows and the router. Every thing seems go so far but do you know how to properly set up parental controls?

  2. Parental Control Loophole

I set up a child account for my teen on windows 10 & set up my parental controls. However, my child bypassed it by logging in to his account, going to settings, then user, then log in with local account. Is there a way to disable this feature?

  3. parental controls for internet content

I would tell you to go pay $.99 cents get your kid a iPhone 5 and use teen safe. I had three windows phone for my teens. And Microsoft never developed good parental controls for their windows phones.

Teen safe will let you monitor everything your kid does on their phone and they cant hide it. Even if they delete their tracks it will show it.

Teen safe is going to push parents away from windows phones all together...

then Microsoft might join in too late as usually.

    Parental Controls aren't working

    Hi,

The issue could be because of corrupted files. I suggest you to delete the corrupted files yourself and see if it helps

to resolve the issue, please follow these steps:

    1) Make sure your children are signed out of any monitored accounts.

    2) Sign in with an administrator account and find the folder that contains the corrupted files.

There are two ways to do this. The easiest way is to enter the complete file path:

    • On the Start screen, type C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Parental Controls and press Enter.

    • If you’d rather open each folder individually, follow these steps:
    a. Go to This PC

    b. Open C:, open the
ProgramData folder, open the Microsoft folder, open the
Windows folder, and open the Parental Controls folder.

    3) Delete all contents of the Parental Controls folder.

This will delete any corrupt files. Your settings will be downloaded again from familysafety.microsoft.com the next time you sign in.

Hope it helps. Reply with the result and I'll be happy to help you further. Thank you
