Windows 10: My Text is running off of the page on my Notepad How do I stop this from happening

I have WINDOWS 10 and I am using the Notepad to type lettesr etc. Lately the Text has been running off of the page and notreturning to the left as it should and has done in the past. Something has caused this to change and I would like to fix itif it is possible please. NOTEPAD not WORD. I am just an elderly person. no business involved. Not overley IT learned either.Thank you if you can help me. I hope its not too involved. Cheers

Yes (sort of). The page break character is 012 (0C hex). This can be inserted in Notepad++ using the Alt+012 numeric keypad method, or from its character panel. When saved as a .txt file Notepad will open it, display the page break character as

and will preserve it when saving from Notepad. But printing from Notepad will not start a new page at the FF, it will print it exactly as displayed in Notepad, all on one page with the

character at each page break.


The one thing you cannot do in Notepad is insert a page break using the Alt + numeric key pad method. You can insert other characters such as 013 for a new line, but Notepad rejects Alt+012 as an illegal character. You can however copy it from an existing text document and paste it into Notepad.

So yes, Notepad respect it if the FF already exists, but it's a pain to create a new FF using just Notepad.

So my question is: Can you insert page breaks in a text file that is readable with Notepad and printable whilst respecting those page breaks.

The breaks only need to be respected when printed, not in Notepad itself.
I'm not asking how to do the same in Wordpad or Notepad++, the question relates to pure text files and their usage in Notepad

Notepad opens on startup. How do I stop this?

• A month or so ago.
• A small error box in the middle of the Notepad blank page, stating, 'Access Denied'
• I have only done the steps within this thread.

When I close this box the Notepad blank page is left and then I close Notepad.

I have to do this every time the computer boots!
