Windows 10: My Toshiba Laptop has ended up on the list of that can't run Win10

My Toshiba Satellite L775D-S7340 was not on the list of laptops that could not run Windows 10 when I installed Win 10 last year. I have had to reinstall 5 times now due to crashes & corrupted files. I found out that my laptop is now on the list of pc's that can't run Windows 10. Is there anything I can do to be able to successfully run Win 10 on this system? Any upgrades, anything? Toshiba is of no help. *cry

PLAY SOUND FROM EARPHONES AND SPEAKERS SIMULTANEOUSLY

When I plugged in the earphones on my Toshiba laptop which I purchased in 2012, a window would pop up and I could choose wheather I wanted to play sound from the earphones only or both the earphones and the laptop speakers. But now I have this old HP G62
which I believe has the same specs as my old toshiba laptop, but I can't figure out how to let the laptop speakers continue playing even when the ear phones are jacked in. The laptop has just been upgraded to win10. Is there a simple way of doing this or do
I have to install some program? (the Sound>Recording>SterioMix>... thing doesn't work)

 

Still no creators update

I have a Toshiba Satellite P50-C-12z (PSPTSE) laptop running Win 10 1607.

I have never been offered the 1703 update.

I am aware Toshiba's had an issue with a display utility which I have now uninstalled.

Now in November I am still not being offered the 1703 update, I can no longer even manually trigger the 1703 update as it has been replaced by 1709.

I don't want to manually trigger 1709 if there is a possibility my laptop is incompatible.

Toshiba's compatibility lists don't include my Laptop, but then it doesn't include it for 1607 either so its not very reliable.

Will I ever get the 1703/1709 update?

I am getting nervous that my laptop will be obsolete in March 2018 if 1607 support ends as planned and I can't upgrade.

It is only 2 years old so I will not be impressed.

 

Sound like maybe time for a new hard drive/SSD? What OS did the laptop come from the factory with?

 

I just installed a new hard drive but it is not SSD. It came with Windows 7 Premium, SP1

Except Windows 7 dism.exe doesn't have the /export-driver function - that was added in Windows 8. So skip exporting the drivers. Instead, after the clean install of Windows 10 - install Macrium Reflect Free again on Windows 10. Explore the Windows partition in the image file you made in step #2 with Macrium Reflect. It will assign a virtual drive letter to it. Then in Windows 10 device manager, after attempting to install drivers for unknown devices by searching automatically, anything that doesn't get a driver from the internet, point the manual driver installation to the Windows folder on the virtual drive letter created by Macrium and it should use compatible drivers from there.

Also look for Windows 8 or Windows 10 drivers from the manufacturers of the hardware components too.

Not including that laptop model in the list of those compatible with Windows 10 really means that Toshiba isn't going to provide Windows 10 drivers for it. It doesn't necessarily mean that Windows 10 won't run on it - your just going to have to hunt for drivers that will work.

 

Thank you for your help! I check all of my 3rd party software for updates or to see if they are compatible with Win 10. However I'm pretty sure the Toshiba software that came pre-installed is not compatible. It seems every time I uninstall bloatware I start having problems. That includes Windows 10 bloatware or programs I won't use. Once I uninstall some of those programs I start having problems. I think Toshiba has updates to Windows 8 drivers for my stuff on their site though. I will upgrade to that. I didn't know that would help. Thanks again!
