my touchpad all of a sudden started moving very slow and I've tried changing the cursor speed and update the driver but it's still very slow

Can't move cursor on touchpad while typing, please help

Hi, I recently received a new Lenovo laptop, and I've noticed I can't move the cursor at all while holding down any key. This is really irritating, especially as a gamer, so could somebody please help, thanks.

(I'm running on Windows 10)
My touchpad is a Synaptics TouchPad V8.1 on PS/2 Port

I've also looked at other posts similar to this one, and I've tried to change my Palm Tracking but I can't edit it at all



as you can see the bar is greyed out, and I can't change the slider

I understand that you want to set the cursor speed value more than 20. The valid range of values for the registry key that you want are trying to change is 0 to 20, with a default value of 10.



Note: Important this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow
these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

However, to increase the cursor speed you can change the mouse settings in Control Panel. Please follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows key + R, to open
   Run dialog box.
   
2. Type control and click on
   OK.
   
3. Select Large icons from the drop down for
   View by.
   
4. Click on Mouse.
   
5. Navigate to Pointer options tab and under
   Motion, move the slider towards right to change the cursor speed.
   
6. Click on Apply and OK.

Touchpad isn't moving my cursor in the correct directions

I was reading a book on my laptop and found the words were too small to read at a comfortable distance, so I put my laptop into flipped portrait mode which solved to problem. All of a sudden, my touchpad seemed to be working in relation to the new orientation
of my screen (in flipped portrait mode, the right side of the screen becomes the top, so now swiping right on my cursor essentially made the mouse move "upwards").

However, after putting my laptop back into landscape, the touchpad didn't revert back to it's original setting, so now swiping up/down on the pad moves my cursor left/right respectively. How can I get my touchpad working correctly again?
