Windows 10: My touchpad and keyboard doesnt work in laptop mode

So i have an Asus Vivobook laptop and all of a sudden, the keyboard and the touchpad wont work in laptop mode, but when i switch to tablet mode, it works fine, i found this out of curiosity because sometimes in tablet mode, i accidentally click my keyboard, and i wanted to make sure that the keyboard itself isnt fully broken, ive tried restarting my laptop and the regedit fix, still nothing

Problem: computer starts up normally and goes to the password log-in screen, but nothing happens when I try to enter the password. The computer doesn't appear to see any keystrokes.
Solutions tried:

1. rebooted
2. removed and replaced main battery
3. attached USB keyboard
4. hit Enter key on startup: successful in opening the Advance Options menu, but am unable to take any of the actions because all require that I enter the laptop password
5. looked for an onscreen keyboard, but there isn't one because this isn't a touch screen computer

Why I think this is a Windows issue:

1. the computer recognizes when I hit the Enter key on startup
2. the USB keyboard doesn’t work
3. the keyboard touchpad doesn’t work, but the attached USB mouse DOES work

I suggest you to use the On-screen keyboard and boot the system in Safe Mode with Networking and check if you can access the Keyboard.

After booting the system in Safe Mode With Networking, update the driver for Keyboard by following the steps below:

• Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device manager.
• Expand Keyboards from the list.
• Right click on the driver and select
  update driver software.

After the driver is updated, boot the system in normal mode and check for status.

I suggest you to install the drivers for touchpad and keyboard in compatibility mode and check for status.

1. Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.

2. Right click on the setup file of the driver and select
“Properties”.

3. Select “Compatibility” Tab.

4. Place a check mark next to“Run this program in Compatibility mode” and select operating system from the drop down list.

5. Let the driver install and then check the functionality.

Also, perform a startup repair for slow boot issues by following the steps below:

• In the lock screen, Press the Shift key and click on power icon.
• Click on Restart anyway.
• After the system goes to the recovery environment, click on Troubleshoot>Advanced Options>Startup repair.
