Touchpad not scrolling after setting ScrollControl_Mode to 1

I am currently experiencing an issue with my laptop touchpad not scrolling after setting ScrollControl_Mode to 1. I appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter.

Device Information:

• Laptop Model: V14-ARE
  
• Operating System: Windows 11 Version 22H2 (OS Build 23580.1000)
  
• Touchpad Driver Version: 10.0.23580.1000
  

Issue Description:

• In an attempt to address mouse scrolling speed on certain programs, I followed online advice here to set ScrollControl_Mode to 1 and restarted my computer.
  
• However, this action has caused my touchpad to no longer scroll. The touchpad is still responsive for movement and clicking, but the scrolling functionality is completely disabled.
  
• It appears as if the touchpad is now pretending to be a regular computer mouse and not recognizing its 2 finger scrolling touchpad feature.
  

Attempts Taken to Resolve:

• I have restarted the laptop multiple times to check if the issue persists.
  
• I have tried changing back ScrollControl_Mode to 0 before restarting again.
  
• I have also checked for any touchpad driver updates.
  
• I downloaded a driver from Lenovo official support website, but it tells me my driver is already up to date.
  

Potentially Related Notes:

• for some reason, the elan tab in my mouse setting does not show up. I tried downloading the ETDProperties app from the microsoft store but it doesn't seem to detect my touchpad.
  
• When I try ETD Properties For I2C, it tells me "Unable to connect the ELAN Touching Device Driver. Please install the ELAN Driver to enable the UI functions." and it doesn't seem to detect my touchpad either

• What is the make and model of the laptop?
  
• What is the Windows 10 version and Build installed? (Type
  winver in Windows search/Run command)

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to check Synaptic settings under Mouse Properties.

1. Press Windows + I key from the keyboard to launch
   Windows Settings.
   
2. Click on Devices and select
   Mouse & touchpad from the left pane.
   
3. Scroll down and click on Additional mouse options.
   
4. Click on Device Settings with the synaptic logo.
   
5. Select the Synaptic driver from the list and click on
   Settings button.
   
6. On the left side in the new windows, check the box beside
   Two-Finger scrolling.
   
7. Click on Apply and OK.
