Windows 10: My touchpad is missing from the Device Manager and is no longer working

I have a brand new Lenovo LAPTOP-A11TUN29 with Windows 10 Pro. I was searching for information on reversing the direction of the touchpad scrolling. I came across information on a thread here about updating drivers. After doing so and restarting my computer, the touchpad stopped working completely. When I tried to go back and update the drivers again, the touchpad was completely missing from the Device Manager before doing so I attached a wireless mouse and am currently using that. That device is listed as the only device under 'mice and other pointing devices'.


What can I do to have the touchpad listed under device manager again so that it will work?

Imaging Devices missing in Device Manager and Webcam doesn't working

Hi,

Since you mentioned that the said driver is missing in Device Manager, what we suggest is for you to check in the Hidden Devices section on Device Manager. Kindly follow the steps below:

• On the desktop, press Windows key + X and select
  Device Manager.
• Click on View and select
  Show Hidden Devices.
• Check for the webcam under Imaging Devices.
• If the webcam is listed, then right-click on it and select
  Update Driver Software
• Select Browse My Computer for Driver Software and follow the prompted steps.

Touchpad not working and disappeared from Device Manager

The touchpad is no longer working on my HPSpectre x360 13-4120 and all instructions to update or install driver involve going to Device Manager and clicking on the Touchpad option. Unfortunately, this has disappeared. I have tried to download and install
the Synaptics touchpad driver and although it seems to go through the process without issue it doesn't appear on Device Manager (so not sure it actually installed) and touchpad scrolling and gestures still are not working. Please help!

 

Touchpad missing in device manager

I have a Lenovo Z70. Touchpad worked when first bought the laptop. It stopped working for no apparent reason and it's also not listed in Device Manager anymore. What can I do to get it to work again?
