  1. My version of Windows 10 will be no longer supported in May of 2020!

I have a older computer that has Windows 10 version 1809 installed in which will no longer be supported by Microsoft. I want to know what to do next, I have until May of 2020 to make a decision.

Is there a way to fix the problem?

    :)

  3. Windows 10 Mobile - No longer supported from 14th January 2020

    Hey there, folk!

If your new to the community, welcome!

Microsoft has ended support for Windows 10 mobile on 10th December 2019.

***Windows 10 Mobile supported until 14th January 2020***

This means that people who are using any phone with Windows 10 mobile will no longer receive security updates. Apps on the device may no longer work.

UPDATE: Microsoft have changed their mind regarding support. Windows 10 mobile is supported until 14th January 2020. A new security update has been released on the 10th December 2019 for supported devices. More information: https://support.microsoft.com/help/4522812/

'As of December 10, 2019, Windows 10 Mobile users are no longer eligible to receive new security updates, non-security hotfixes, free assisted support options, or online technical content updates from Microsoft for free. Third parties
or paid support programs may provide ongoing support, but it is important to recognize that Microsoft support will not publicly provide updates or patches for Windows 10 Mobile.

Only device models that are eligible for Windows 10 Mobile, version 1709 are supported through the end date. For Lumia 640 and 640 XL phone models, Window 10 Mobile version 1703 was the last supported OS version and will reach end of support on
June 11th, 2019. Please see the
Windows 10 Mobile availability per device
    model
    for more information.'

What does this mean for me?

If you are running Windows 10 on your phone, then you will have to think about upgrading the phone to a new one. Of course, you can still run the phone and the operating system will still work as normal. However, Microsoft will not be providing any
security patches or updates to WIndows 10 on mobile.

Companies/Developers who are ending support for their Apps on Windows phone

While I can not make a list of every app that will no longer be supported on the Windows Phone, I will try and list the ones I can find. You will need to contact the developer of the App for further information or questions you may have regarding their announcement
for end of support for their apps. These dates are what I got from their Apps or website. These are not set in stone and can change at the developers discretion.

Facebook App & Facebook Messenger - No Longer Supported (01/07/2019)

Facebook are ending support for their Apps on the 30th June 2019. After this date, you will not be able to log into their Facebook app on Windows phone, and the app will no longer be compatible with Windows phone. You will still be able to use the Facebook
site though the web browser on your phone. If you have downloaded the app, you will be presented with a message telling you to use the browser instead.

Instagram App - No Longer Supported (16/08/2019)

This app is no longer supported. You will have to use the website on Microsoft Edge. However, this site does have limitations.

PayPal - No Longer Supported (01/05/2019)

PayPal no longer support their app on Windows Phone. This means you will not be able to use it on your device. You will have to use their site instead. Their site is mobile responsive so it will adjust to the device your using.

WhatsApp - No Longer Supported (31/12/2019)

For those of you who are using WhatsApp on your phones. This will no longer be supported on Windows phones after 31/12/2019 this year. This means you will need to use another app like Skype or Viber for voice calls and messaging.

Information is been added when I can find it. So to stay up to date you may want to keep checking this sticky or subscribe to RSS feed! If you find something, please share it in the forum with a source (Preferably from the developer themselves) and I can
include it on here. This way everyone can be informed so we know what doesn't work anymore. We may create an article outlining the Apps available and the apps not available on Windows devices in August.

    Thanks,

My version of Windows 10 will be no longer supported in May of 2020!

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
