My volume increases by itself randomly

My volume will randomly start increasing to max percent and wont stop increasing even though its at max volume and if I try to lower it it just carries on increasing back to 100 percent and its not a slow increase its a fast sudden one. I've already disabled the "allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" as well as disabling every other playback device that is not in use and the volume is still increasing by itself, help? Oh and it also decreases by itself too but not as bad as the increase.

    :)

    Volume randomly increases

After I start a video, the volume will suddenly increase. It will work fine until I pause and then play again. It shows no change in the volume indicator. It stays at the same volume level (25, 47, etc.) but the volume is much higher. Anyone know how to
    fix this?

  3. Volume randomly increases

    Hi Rahzii,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

Based on the issue description, it appears that the volume increases randomly. We'll be glad to help you.

In order to assist you further with the issue could you please confirm a couple of things:

    1. What is the make and model of the computer?

    2. Do you face any issue while playing audios?

    3. Have you made any recent changes on the system?

To diagnose the issue, I suggest you to try the following methods and check if the issue persists.

    Method 1: Run the Troubleshooter

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check for common problems with your volume settings, your sound card or driver, and your speakers or headphones. Refer these steps:

    1. Right click on Start button, select Control Panel.

    2. Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.

    3. Click on Troubleshooting and click on the view all
    option on the left panel.

    4. Run the Playing Audio troubleshooter.

    Method 2 : Update drivers

Most sound card require driver software to work properly. If you recently upgraded from one version of Windows to another, it's possible that the current driver is for the previous version of Windows. If you've had recent power outages, viruses, or other
computer problems, it's possible that the drivers have become damaged.

Downloading and installing the latest driver for your device can resolve these types of problems.

I suggest you to check for updated drivers for your sound card in the manufacturer’s website.

Refer below articles for more information:

Hope this helps. If the issue remains unresolved, please get back to us and we would be happy to help.

    Thank you.

    Hi Chan,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. I’ll certainly help you with this.

Before we proceed, please answer the following questions to help you better.

    • Does this issue occur while using a particular program/browser? If yes, which is the
      program/browser?
    • When you say sound increases while watching a new video, does it mean that the Volume Mixer automatically increases the volume from 10%?
