Windows 10: My volume up and down keys aren't working anymore, they only function as F keys making...

My volume up and down keys aren't working anymore, they only function as F keys making controlling volume less convenient. This happened after an Update a few updates ago. I can't find a solution. I'm on HP Elitebook.

Keyboard Volume Keys not working while in-game

I happen to have used the Tt Challenger Pro keyboard in the past, and the volume keys worked flawlessly in every game, so it's indeed a weird problem. I would suggest the same thing sneekypeet suggested, using the keyboard software and assign this function to a hotkey, but you said that didn't work either, so yeah...

 

1215N function keys not working?

I recently purchased a Asus Eee PC 1215N, and reinstalled Windows (the factory install has too much bloatware.)

However I'm finding some of the function keys do not work. Changing brightness works fine with the function keys, but volume and turning off the touchpad doesn't seem to work.

Is there a tool I can install?
I only used Windows Update for the drivers so far, and I wiped the recovery partition to make more room for the install itself.

I read about something called ATK hotkeys, would that work?

 

f function keys

My f keys are also the volume and playback keys. It used to be that I could just hit the volume key to change volume, but now I have to hold the fn key to do so. Not a huge deal, just an inconvenience and I want it back to the way it was. I have tried getting
to the startup menu by pressing I think F10 when I turn my computer on and I changed the F key function in there but it didn't change it at all. Tried googling it and asking someone I know who works with technology for a living, but with no fix.

I have a Toshiba L875 with windows 10 64-bit
