    My w10 check disks each Sunday


    As the title says, each Sunday, when I turn on my computer, w10 checks the disks.

    Now the problem is that one of my disks has some errors, but this is not a problem for me, since I only use it to storage temporary unimportant data. Basically I don't care if the content get lost.

    Sadly, this lead also the checkdisk to last about 40 minutes!

    How can I disable this sort of schedule activity?

    Checking Disk Consistency

    Ok i did as viper suggested, but it stops checking at stage 3. It is still saying the drive is dirty, and still needs to be checked. I did a defrag and a disk cleanup, and suggestions?

    Hi Jack,

    I suggest you to perform a Startup repair by following the steps below and check if it helps.

    • In the Lock screen, press/hold the shift key and click on power icon>restart.
    • Click on Troubleshoot>Advanced Options>Startup Repair and follow the prompts to start the Startup Repair.
