    My waste basket icon has disappeared from my desktop - Windows 10 Pro


    The other answer on here for the same problems is now out of date, there is no "Desktop Icons settings" that popup from search anymore.https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-start-winpc/my-waste-basket-icon-has-disappeared-from-my/619a38f5-8088-4b45-a877-6816fbd9af05But as you lock these threads now - it shows up in search and nobody can comment that it no longer works.How do I see the Wastebasket/Recycle bin on my desktop like I used to be able to ?ThanksMarcus

    Thank you for posting on Microsoft Communities.

    When you say waste basket icon, are you referring to Recycle bin?

    If so, please follow the steps and check if you are able to get the Recycle bin back on your desktop:

    • Click on Search on your taskbar.
    • Type desktop icons and select Show and hide common icons on desktop.
    • Under Desktop icons, make sure Recycle bin option is checked.
    • Click OK.

    Here's how to get the Recycle Bin on your desktop in Windows 10:

    • Select the Start button, then select Settings .
    • Select Personalization > Themes > Desktop icon settings.
    • Select the Recycle Bin check box > Apply.
