Anyone else getting Cortana spam?

Actually, that "top hamburger button" does disable Cortana, in effect, turning 'her' off.




As for being embedded in the OS, that isn't exactly true. Cortana can be completely uninstalled, if Classic shell is installed first. She will also disappear completely, if you set your country and language setting to, say, Bangladesh/English. Cortana isn't available in Bangladesh.

Lol. I routinely disable almost all info sharing with each iteration or upgrade of Windows. The only app set to 'On' is Outlook, so it can sync with my Yahoo email accounts. Of course, I'm sure that Microsoft is still collecting and sending data as they deem 'necessary'.
Logging in with my Local account hasn't eliminated the spam message, nor did changing my Bing preferences, and clearing internet history and personal info had no effect.

How to remove Bing search

a) What is the exact issue that you face with Bing?

b) Is the issue related to Bing app?

c) Do you get issues with bing search in Windows Edge?

If you wish to set a different search for Windows Edge, here are the steps which might help you to set it as default search engine or home page.

• Open Windows edge.
• Click on More actions (Three dots ...)
• Click on settings.
• Click on view advanced settings.
• Turn on "Show the home button"
• Enter the URL of the website which you want to set as your home page.
• Close the Windows edge and open it again you will be able to get you desired webpage as your home page.

For Internet Explorer, refer to the following steps:

a) Type Internet options into the start search box

b) Press enter

c) Go down to search and select settings,

d) You can change it here.

How to make the registry key has an effect on IE11 Addon Bing?

Hi, everyone.
I was testing my registry key of IE 11 Settings.

I found the registry key that it didn't have an effect on disabling search suggestion of IE11 addon Search Provider Bing.
My main objective is using the registry key to "disable search suggestion of IE11 addon Search Provider Bing".

The registry key data would change to 0 when I disabled search suggestion or 1 when I enabled search suggestion manually.

But, The registry key had no effect on disabling search suggestion of IE11 addon Search Provider Bing.

The registry key is as following.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchScopes\{0633EE93-D776-472f-A0FF-E1416B8B2E3A}]
"ShowSearchSuggestions"=dword:00000000

Note:
"已啟用" meets "Enabled" in Chinese Traditional.
